Joe DiLeo

About the artist

 

Joe DiLeo, born in Waterbury, Connecticut in 1961, is entirely self-taught as an artist and has been actively painting and exhibiting since the age of ten. 

 

As a painter, he has produced an eclectic portfolio in both oils and acrylics, ranging widely in subject matter from still-lifes, urban and rural landscapes, seascapes, portraits, and abstracts. As a graphic artist and as the principle of Twin Lion Design, he has designed logos and ephemeral materials for a wide variety of professional and industrial companies, educational institutions, magazines, and newspapers over a thirty-five-year career.

Why this show?

“The human form has been the most widely attempted subject for artists since the dawn of civilization. Yet, as an artist, I have never particularly focused on or exhibited work depicting the human body. As a challenge, this is my first submission of work dedicated to the masculine human form.”
